Art: inktober2022

I drew again in my small sketchbook Canson art book universal (14×21 cm / 4×6 in), using individually or together a black Pentel brushpen, Kuretake fudegokochi black pen, Sakura Pigma Micron 003 black fine liner (very very fine), Kuretake light grey Brush Writer, and a white brush pen which doesn’t work too well anymore.

For the first time since I started doing the challenge every year in 2016, I have missed days because I didn’t like these prompts. In fact it’s the first time in those seven years that I found the list mostly terrible.

Yet I was able to draw three of them in tribute to Moebius, one to Ghibli, one to “Money Heist” (La casa de papel), and one to “Arcane, League of Legends”.

I didn’t spend a lot of time on each drawing this year. I wasn’t exactly inspired either, so as a result there are only a handful which I really liked. But as usual, I enjoyed myself doing it!

All done on my small sketchbook Canson art book universal (format 14×21 cm), using a Pentel black brushpen, Kuretake fudegokochi black pen, Kuretake light grey Brush Writer in many cases, and in the cases of the last two, that same pen in Geranium Red.

Conclusion

I loved it! I discovered in the process that I don’t really like coloured pencils, but that I absolutely love gouache painting!

I think I have improved over the years. Notably, for “sullen” I redid a drawing of “Woman Sitting on Edge of Veranda” by Utamaro Kitagawa. Four years apart, and this time the lines were crisper and there was simply more details.
